At Last - Beyoncé Knowles HQ (Fashion Rocks 2008)

No offense to Beyoncé. She did a fairly good job here. This song has been covered by just about every major female singer. But Etta James' is still the best. Norah Jones's version is really tight though. I think she covered this song better than anyone else.

I'm not comparing the two songs necessarily. I'm saying that they both are pretty "light and fluffy" but when all is said and done will identify a certain time in music history and will thusly, be considered classics. Now what you'd prefer isn't really the topic here.

etta james is a soul diva she shows us all how music can be passionate. everytime beyonce and christina or anyone for that matter belt out this song they are most probably an etta james fan and its all in respect to her. judge as much as you like but etta james makes soul music beautifull & makes you want to listen to her music all night long and thats what you call a great musician. they both done a beautifull version of at last.

I love this song. I actually like Christina's voice, however, I did not like the way she sang this song. No one does it like Etta, but Beyonce did it justice.

Listen to the all around good album Back To Basics after you're done with that album filler I Am...Compromising then get back to me. Based on how you described Beyonce, so you tell me she's a people pleaser instead of being her own person?

CHEETA, no way no how can Crazy In Love be compared to Beat It. This is what I mean by how bad music is. I'll take Eddie Van Halen's guitar solo over that Rhino's rap solo any day.

Way better than Christina Aguilera. I love this song. The movie was great too.
