    He could sing live reallllllly well. It's a shame he used so much of playback in latest years, he could limit his dancing and sing more.

    He had outstanding vocal abilities. It's just he loved dancing and always wanted to be perfect, that's why he used playback or semi-playback in late nineties IMHO.

    Clearly us who are talking about it care about it. MJ could sing just fine live so for some of these songs (especially the slow ones without much dance), I don't understand the need for a playback. You're right that it is a mix in most cases, he usually comes in live during the last verses to ad-lib.

    Who cares about it???? I think at the rehearsals you can see he could really sing not like so many others, and even if he made Playback at the concerts(for me I think it is a mix) he is still the Greatest of all time!!!
