Thank you- many Americans do not realize the horrors that Chinese, Koreans, Filipinos, Malaysians and others went through under Japanese rule. I once met Brigdier General Paul Tibbets, the pilot of the Enola Gay. He died last fall in his early 90s. He was always proud that he had sone something to end the war.
I visited Malaysia once in 1989-1990. Penang is a beautiful city.

My father would agree with you on *one* point: as a gunner on a B-24 Liberator who flew 29 combat missions over Germany in 1945, he had a great deal of respect for whoever designed the ME-262 jet fighter.

Could you get any more ignorant? Germany was run under a National Socialist ideology not Fascist. Secondly the war in Europe was started in September 3rd, 1939 when Great Britain and France declared war on Germany. Thirdly Germany did not need individuals who were not native to Germany or European culture and ethnicity and Germany did mighty fine in terms of technology since they invented the first operation jets, missiles, jet ejection sets, computers, stealth technology, magnetic tapes, etc..

This was NOT terrorism; what the japs did to us in 1941, bombing Pearl Harbor, was perfect justification for the bombings in Japan. An eye for an eye. Plus, the japs refused to surrender, and to save countless American lives-we were poised to invade Tokyo and risk losing many more American lives-we dropped two nuclear bombs, ending the war and giving the Allies the victory. Justifiable bombings? yes. However horrible it may have been. War is war.
