Frank Fontaine as the much loved Crazy Guggenheim on The Jackie Gleason Show from 1962. As a kid, it was my favorite part of the show.
How AWESOME to see GREAT TELEVISION again! Long live these classic telvision shows. They just won't make them this good anymore.

The reason these segments work so riotously well as they do, is because, great a comedian as he was, Gleason was an even better straight man. Fontaine puts the ball in the air; Gleason's reactions spike it over the net.

"My Gal Sal" is the name of the song. Written by Paul Dresser in 1905. Actually, in the beginning he sings,
They call her Frivolous Sal,
A peculiar sort of a gal
and the end he sings,
A wild sort of devil,
But dead on the level,
Was My Gal Sal. The "Great One" 4ever!
whats the song jackie gleasons sings when the bar scenes open and especially close

A Blone version of Jackie!
She wasn't looking at the prompter, likely her agent.
Back in the 80's my Nanna would be sitting in the lounge and just start laughing for a good half hour. Finally she would relate a sketch from the Jackie Gleason Show that had come to mind for her! That's the impact of this show!
