I understand your emotional philosophy, however I am not using emotions to rate his singing. At the end of the day, his love for his mother does not make him a better tenor than another without it. America is changing for the worse when we provide merit on someones background rather than actual talent.

One time I saw Daniel Barenboim in Philly. Someone had the "audacity" to clap in the middle of the performance. Some people were disgusted. At the end, Mr. Barenboim talked about the power of music, and said "if you want to clap in the middle - CLAP!!!" So to Franz - learn from a beloved prodigy and see the beauty in music. He "could not handle" the last note because he began to cry, and many of us cried with him. That note was perfect because it reflected the love for his mother.

My name is Franz, named after Franz schubert, I was raised around Opera from my father a surgeon and amateur opera singer. My best friends wife is a professional opera soprano who just got back from singing at Italy for a month. I cannot sing, but I know more than 99% of those idiots on that audience. He is OK, not great. He could not handle the last note and his voice left more to be desired. If you have not been arouund Opera long enough, keep your uneducated opinions to yourselves.

Lovely. So what if there are similarities with Paul Potts in Brittain? Talent is talent and this is rare from "the average Joe." So now we have our own opera star!! Just when I was beginning to think BGT was so much better than AGT this season is surprising me. I am very happy!!

This whole show is a fake! It couldn't have been written any worse. They copied the same idea from last year's Britain's Got Talent. From the humble salesman who sings opera and to the little toddler who is the "best singer in the world at her age". It's obviously that they will be the final two and the opera man is the winner just like in BGT.

I guess some people who are bashing him cause of his weight didn't see the child hood pictures of Neal they showed. He wasn't big at all. Also I watched a clip of that Paul dude and he wasn't as good as Neal E Boyd.

He's the american version of Paul Potts (britans Got Talent)Search it. They are very similar.

Regardless whether he sang the same song as the guy on BGT, he did sing it. This guy gave me chills and I'm no opera fan. Most people here are so quick to judge by appearance, yet hide their own faces. How about giving credit where credit is due. This guy is good.

I sat watching his performance stunned, with goosebumps forming on my arms, and tears streaming down my face. Neal Boyd touched my heart with his voice and my soul with his eyes. Amazing.

you guys got overwhelmed by the fat crybaby!!! He is a 32 yr old man bawling like a baby and it doesnt even seem like he struggled growing up. obviously he is well fed.
Of course he can sing and is one of the favorites but dont get all emotional coz tubby cries at the drop of a hat! I hope he wins coz he is from Missouri but fatty should control those tears. be a man!
