lol thats the exact one i was looking at on academy, its pretty accurate and good quality right? i mean not the best but its not a peice of crap is it?
By bleujae1 [Affiliate User] 1227132748 Reply Spam [+0] Moderate Up Moderate Down RemoveThat all depends on how much you want to spend. The gun in this video is the Mossberg ATR-100 I got from Academy. But there are a lot better rifles out there. It's up to your budget.

By bleujae1 [Affiliate User] 1227118534 Reply Spam [+0] Moderate Up Moderate Down RemoveHoly S**t dude! That's a serious rifle! Bet you don't shoot it much though with the massive recoil and $5 a bullet! I was just looking and with a 200 yard zero you're only dropping 14" at 400 yards! Not to mention the massive energy it has at that distance!
I don't suppose you could make us a video of you shooting it? I would really love to see one fired!
I shoot a 30-378 weatherby for me 400yrds is just a chip shop:)
By frogg346 [Affiliate User] 1227077908 Reply Spam [+0] Moderate Up Moderate Down RemoveThen I would recommend the .308. Most of your long range shooter that shoot in comps prefer it because it's very accurate at long range. Other pluses for it is that the ammo is reasonably priced and it has a manageable recoil. Google the .308 and read up on it. You'll see what I'm talking about.

By bleujae1 [Affiliate User] 1227059248 Reply Spam [+0] Moderate Up Moderate Down RemoveIt depends on what you want to do with it. A lot of rifles shoot long range. But what are you going to be shooting with it? Deer, bear, moose, targets? That will determine what you should get.
By Jeff3230 [Affiliate User] 1227058635 Reply Spam [+0] Moderate Up Moderate Down Removehey are you experienced in rifles? cuz i only have a .22 right now but i want something with more power, and that can travel farther, do u have any suggestions on rifles for long range shooting? btw im only 15, idk if that make a difference
By bleujae1 [Affiliate User] 1227053237 Reply Spam [+0] Moderate Up Moderate Down RemoveOH wait! I just saw you said 7MM-08! Dude now I know something wrong! You must not be doing something right. A 7MM-08 has a worse drop than the .270 or the 30-06. With 200 yard zeros at 400 yard shots the the .270 drops 20" the 30-06 drops 21" and the 7MM-08 drops 22".
By Jeff3230 [Affiliate User] 1227044903 Reply Spam [+0] Moderate Up Moderate Down RemoveOn the numbers you gave for your 270 and 7MM mag difference. Something is really wrong there. A .270 only drops about 22" at 400 yards with a 200 yard zero. The 7MM mag drops about 18" with a 200 yard zero. Are you sure you aren't moving your shot when you pull the trigger? Another thing to keep in mind, with most every gun you get a 1" variation for every 100 yards you shoot.
By Jeff3230 [Affiliate User] 1227044631 Reply Spam [+0] Moderate Up Moderate Down RemoveOK here goes. For those who don't know much about shooting. Every bullet made under a certain spec moves right at the same rate. That's why people reload there own bullets for comp. That's why you are able to hit things at a certain distance consistent. A standard 150 grain 30-06 bullet travels at 2910. It's all to do with weight of the bullet to the precise amount of gun powder. On another note, the numbers I gave on drop were for a 200 yard zero.
By Jeff3230 [Affiliate User] 1227044096 Reply Spam [+0] Moderate Up Moderate Down Removehow do you know how fast your bullet is. the book may be wrong? and that is hard to believe it only drops 21 inches when zeroed in at 100 yards. I sight my guns in at 2 high at 100. my 270 is about 35 low at 400 and my 7mm 08 is only 20 low at 400. and that is set high at 100. 3006 should be alot lower at 400 if sighted dead on at 100??????
