By randyds5 [Affiliate User] 1217462211 Reply Spam [+0] Moderate Up Moderate Down RemoveWow. Bloodline seems to have not a closed mind but a sealed and locked airtight one. Any good martial artist pretty much ends up with the same set of moves. Simple direct and powerful ones. We might all take a different path but if you train correctly we all end up in pretty much the same place. Many chinese arts have very similar movements to boxing and muay thai. You clearly have never studied any chinese art in depth. What a totaly distructive comment.

By whatisyournameya [Affiliate User] 1216950391 Reply Spam [+0] Moderate Up Moderate Down RemoveChinese Kung fu is all rubbish! The only Chinese martial art that works is San Shao.. other then that ... Crap! Boxing, Muay Thai, Jiu Jitsu, Ju Jitsu, Judo, wrestling, and Kickboxing.. real martial arts!
By bloodline321 [Affiliate User] 1216950104 Reply Spam [+0] Moderate Up Moderate Down RemoveFrom what I've read about the story of how Xing Yi came from Yue Fei, I'd agree that the account is somewhat dubious. It's hard to believe that the manuscripts that supposedly trace their origins to him could have been so well preserved until they were discovered. Nevertheless, Xing Yi's link to military spear applications is quite obvious.
Haven't read Dr Yang's book on Xing Yi, but his other books are very well organized and have helped me tremendously extrapolating techniques from forms.
I agree ,I thought it helped me out quite a bit. BaPanzhang is clueless
By randyds5 [Affiliate User] 1216411666 Reply Spam [+0] Moderate Up Moderate Down RemoveI've found the book by Liang Shou-Yu and Yang Jwing-Ming to be a helpful supplement.
I would recommend it to anyone interested in Xingyiquan... don't disregard it just because some random person on the internet thinks it is rubbish.
Yueh Fei has no connection to Xin Yi/Xing Yi Quan at all, this fallacy was spread through the fake 18th century manuscript attributed to Dai Long Bang, which also mentions, Cao Ji Wu, which has nothing to do with Xin Yi/Xing Yi at all.
Don't pay any attention to Dr Yang Jwing Ming's book, it is a load of rubbish, the only thing of interest is the translations for English speakers of some of the poems, which of course come from other books, such as Sun Lu Tang's.
when he was doing the elements, it didn't seem like he was trying to generate a lot of power, and his steps were really inconsistent.
once he got into the linking form though, it all cleaned up and he was MUCH more explosive with his fa-jin.

thats true.THats the beauty of xing yi 5 elements. Is only five movements, but have hundreds of variations. SO each practioner can have a different take on it. Nevertheless, this master is quite talented
