This game still gives me chills watching it. MJ had that look that was beyond serious. After losing Game 3 in 3OTS, Kevin Johnson bragged about holding MJ to 44pts. Thus, MJ came out in Game 4 with a look of stoic madness. Becoming just the 5th player to score 50+ in the finals, he tied Rick Barry for 2nd highest all time in the Finals with 55 pts. But, the manner in which MJ played was just jaw-dropping - capped with a vicious last shot, MJ-style. Suns' coach Westphal said, "I don't think MJ could guard MJ. I'm as much in awe as everyone else. He's the best offensive and defensive PG ever, the best offensive and defensive SG ever, the best offensive and defensive SF, and he's probably top five at PF and C."

  • Do these kobe ...

Do these kobe fanboys realize this was NBA FINALS, the MOST IMPORTANT series of NBA itself? This is where Jordan thrived on and that why he will be the greatest ever lived. Once Kobe starts to do these, he'll get the respect. How hard is that?

Hoops, thank you for these vids. It really made my day...oh BTW I predicted the 91 pistons sweep when everybody was thinking I was f'ing crazy!

It's funny how Kobe fans talk about him being the best ever. The guy in 11 years never even won an MVP award during the regular season or the finals. He's not even the best Laker of all time. I'd put him behind Magic, Kareem, Wilt and West, not necessarily in that order but definitely number five.

Magic Johnson for the first time got on my nerves this series. You can tell by listening to him he was going for the Suns, and he even said it during the telecast in Game 5. He wanted Phoenix to win cause he knew Michael would hold it over his head that he was able to 3-peat and Magic didn't

it took me a looooong time to like kobe and he's one of my fav players now but this is why he isnt all the way on mike's level yet. nba finals, playoffs, must win games, jordan ALWAYS stepped his game up to a level that NO ONE else has reached. kobe hasnt really played big in the post season since shaq left. every season was something ned for mike in terms of playoff performances. kobe has a loooooong way 2 go.

  • Well, to stay on ...

Well, to stay on Jordan pace, last year was the age Jordan dropped 60 on one of the best five teams of all time. And LeBron needs to average 37 this year. Also, it's insulting to compare a guy who sleep-walks through 90% of his games to the greatest competitor ever.

Like Charles Barkley says, there will never be another Jordan.

MJ is best (Michael Jackson, Magic Johnson, and Mike Jones! Not!) Kobe is 2nd! Seriously, Lebron will be better than Kobe, when both of their careers are over - and Lebron may become better than Jordan. Why, because the dude is out of high school and singlehandly led his NBA team to the finals when he was just supposed to be a junior in college! (Of course still has improving to do - but this year 2008, he'd still be in college as a senior!)
