SATIRE of the types of music on Celtic Woman, Riverdance and other new age style neo-medieval folk music. Music written and sung by Juliet Jeske. Filmed by Lynn Craig, edited on imovie. Entire video filmed in New York City at the Cloisters.

It was raining on us the whole time. Shot, edited and uploaded in one day!

I love Irish Music and the whole nine yards, but I make fun of everything and traditional folk songs are DARK, lots of murder and death!

I love the language they use, like glockers, similar to the terms the english use that i find amusing. almost a foreign language with their unfamiliar words.

  • I am not Irish, ...

I am not Irish, German decent actually and 5th generation so I am really AMERICAN, not Irish or German. 1/8 Irish in blood, but I don't really count it. So my parents could care less. But I will let them know that I should be ashamed, I guess for daring to make a parody. The vast majority of Celtic women fans have loved this, I have even gotten requests for lyrics and a follow up. See unedited comments below! To each his own I guess!

Thanks! I'll try and get it round on the folk circuit, most folkies tend to love parodies - Look how well the kipper family did! Can't wait to hear the sequel, with even more real sounds made fake!

  • I am absolutely ...

I am absolutely loving how people who are really into this music are getting the joke! I will post the lyrics soon. I am currently swamped making political videos but I do have a sequel to this song in the works. The synthetic sounds are just my voice humming through compressors for voice on garage band. So it is an actual real sound made to sound fake!

  • My first negative ...

My first negative comment in over 4,500 views and six months of being on youtube. I think it is a record at least for me. Apparently according your profile you don't speak English as a first language. All of the jokes in this are IRISH (English) slang terms, so you wouldn't get any of the references. Not one. So I guess I will go polish someone's knob, or scuttle their clackers, or have a bit of their barse, and they can nibble me gibblets.

  • Funny that you say ...

Funny that you say that, everyone wants a sequel. I am currently thinking of doing a song bitching about how Celtic Woman does songs like Somewhere over the Rainbow. Like she is mad that they aren't doing traditional Irish songs. We'll see. Thanks! So far I haven't gotten any negative comments which is a little shocking!
