My parents flew from scotland to frankfurt january 2007 during a tremendous strorm. When they had landed they told me that it was an absolute silence on that plane as it was shaken by the storm. I couldn't believe that. And here I have heard for multiple times that there is always that silence when a plane has problems. I wonder why...

150 knots is the stalling speed when flaps and slats are retracted. Jets usually land at speeds at or below 150 knots.

Low air speed and crap weather you can feel the air craft runiing out of lift just before a stall. 150 knots is very low and close to the stall speed.
