Megabits per second is the unit of measure for the connection speed. And you couldn't be more correct about this being overkill for just internet speeds. Unless he's moving large files, he is probably not going to see any improvement in general internet browsing.

I've tried several wifi signal DIY enhancers from youtube & metacafe but none worked exept for this. I guess what made the difference is the bigger size of the plate compared to the other small parabolic designs. My laptop is on the 2nd fl & i used to get poor to fair signal, now i can get "very good" signal & its stable or the least is it will drop down to "good" from time to time.

MBps would be Megabytes per second, as opposed to Mbps for Megabits per second. Capitalization of the B makes it bytes, lower case b for bits, unless I'm much mistaken. At the end of the day, it's all bits and bytes... (although 4bits = 1byte)
