Hahhah, no, it doesn't take less skill to play the bass. How would you like to get a really good sound with a pick that's not the same size on both sides? It's got bigger strings. Bigger neck. The muting technique is sooo complex.

In my opinion, the bass is the hardest intstrument to play (don't know about enough about wind instruments though).

The bass simply requires less skill than the banjo,fiddle, or even guitar (which is saying alot!).

there are a lot of really good bass players. The bass ties down the song, and almost makes or breaks a song in my mind. What about John Paul Jones, or Chris Squire?
