Mr Mammotty must have learned from the late Prem Nazir (Abdul Qadir) that being humble is the best way to approach this sort of situation. Those poor fans were simply overwhelmed by him and their actions might have been provoking, but he should have been bit more graceful in the way he reacted to that loving-provocation!

i am not at all justifying mamootty.what he did is wrong, but,
what i discovered from his expression while beating that man is that mamutty knows the 'fan' very well. may be some one who had caused an irritation to the star earlier. he is smiling at every body except to this guy. while seeing him, at once he reacts. that man might have behaved with him some way he doesnt like!!so it is not okey to abuse a man without knowing all sides of the tragic incident.
