Is Wicca Right for You?

Not to sound trite, but I see a lot of people selling, and buying and doing things that they call "Wicca"
Now Im not super old, (early 40s) but all this stuff with herbs etc, I can remember my great grand mother, who was from Kilmarnock, do most of this.
The may poll dance ,herb medicines, etc.
Us kids were told she was superstitious.
She was a devout Catholic!
I don't understand, I'm not being mean, I just don't.
Is this just a fad thing?

Yes, I find that there are two views of wicca or paganism, the hollywoodish (but still real because there are people that choose to make it so) and the traditional.
Faithless witches, or a tainted faith? To my knowledge there IS a corrupted form of Wicca, who do not celebrate life, but rather the contrary. Maybe it should not be called Wicca, but dark paganism or something such, I dont know. I dont think its common but still. They have hollywood to help recruit. :/

Sadly you are right s031720, wicca does attract some unspiritual and negative people with no concept that it is a benign faith that instructs first do no harm. They are often blinded by Hollywood BS and fictional stuff like Charmed and The Craft. There is no hexing and bending other persons will to your own in wicca. They dont understand that wicca is a faith, witchcraft is a practise. You can have non wiccan witches and wiccan witches. These people do not understand the difference.

First Wicca I come across that truyly feel spiritual. To me, it seems the Wicca religion seems to attract alot of unspiritual, vengeful and fearful people. I dont not know why, maybe the concept of hexing and bending other peoples will to your own?
Anyways, Wicca may be a small-person-magnet, but you stand out in my eyes as a loving and spiritual person, and give me some faith back in wicca. Thank you.
All that is good and loving will be needed in the world, all to soon.

Of course we do streetz23! We only have one planet to live on. If we over exploit the precious and finite resources we have been given, we will destroy it and us along with it. Which would be dumb and avoidable. Wiccans have a deep and abiding respect for the earth and all that dwell on it.

Earlier there was some numpty suggesting Hitler was Wiccan, a crazy and totally inaccurate slander on our beautiful and benign faith.
