On April 24, 1971, John Denver sang "The Strangest Dream" at a peace march in Washington DC. The anti-war march was to protest the Vietnam War. The song, written by Ed McCurdy, was one of the anthems of the anti-war era.
Thanks so much for posting this great song!
Being a guitar player I noticed on that 1971 day, John is playing a 12-string guitar, it is like playing two guitar at the same time, with the wind blowing at him, most people would just not be able to sing at all...
That was 1971 when the stupid war was going on; now is 2007, another stupid war is going again, and John is here singing and praying...
JOHN LIVES!!
It's said that departed loved ones send birds, especially the kind of bird or birds they cherished while they were living, to those they left behind as an expression of love. I've witnessed this many times in my life - enough to know it's no coincidence.

By richardthripp [Affiliate User] 1195329077 Reply Spam [+0] Moderate Up Moderate Down RemoveTwenty five years ago they spoke out and they broke out
Of depression and oppression and together they toked
And they folked out with guitars around a bon fire
Just singin' and clappin' man what the hell happened
Some were spell bound some were hell bound
Some they fell down and some got back up and
Fought back 'gainst the melt down
And their kids are hippie chicks and hypocrites
Because fashion is smashin' the true meaning of it
This should be te WORLD INTERNATIONAL HYMNE.
I still mis him.
Skippy.
I TOTALLY AGREE NightingaleHMP.
By waynebaron [Affiliate User] 1194705154 Reply Spam [+0] Moderate Up Moderate Down RemoveThis should be Americas national anthem not 'land of the free'. I wonder what J.D. would have to say about that idiot Bush (and Blair) if he was still around today. RIP John we miss you. PS I am an Englishman!
