Nokia 500 Auto Navigation - First Look

The Nokia 500 is newest car naviagtion system from the Finnish electronics manufacturer.

The box set includes a car charger, a usb cable, a car moint, a 4gb memory card, a card reader, a leather case and a user manual.

The Nokia 500 looks elegant and solid. Thanks to the high quality of the plastic that was used, it wont scratch easily.

The LCD screen is 4.3 inches acres and is very comfortable to work with. It offers a high contrast and efficient touch screen functionality. The ergonomics of the device are impeccable, as is the case with Nokia's cell phones, although we did have to check the manual to access all the functions. The menu is clear and the navigation system is fast, stable, and precise.

Now a few words about the GPS system. The device ises Auto Map 5 and issues voice and visual information very efficiently. Apart from the standard voices, Polish users can also choose rally champion Krzysztof Hołowczyc.

Create a pleasing effect when navigating. The map also includes the coordinates of so-called "points of interest", such as hotels, ATM's or speed traps.

The devices intuitive interface is probably its biggest advantage. The large touch screen makes it easy to type in addresses, while the included auto map has a large group of fervent supporters. The Nokia 500 allows to choose between day and nighttime and 2d and 3d modes.

We can also choose to issue the device voice commands to avoid Rusing out hands.

The Nokia 500 comes equipped with a Bluetooth speaker system.
Nokias experience in manufacturing telephones allowed creating a GPS system that can also easily be used as a phone. Our number database was very quickly uploaded by the device allowing it to identify incoming calls. The phone function will definitely come in handy to people who drive a lot.

The FM transmitter included in the device is a very usefull addition, as it allows playing mp3's through the cars radio system. The sound quality is very good. This function will most likely appeal to younger users used to multimedia solutions.

In conclusion, Nokias New device is definately up to the high standards set by the manufacturer. The quality finish, simple interface, stable system and additional Bluetooth and fm transimitters make the Nokia 500 a great GPS device.

The only downside is that device is pretty expensive, although a quick browse of online shops led us to find the Nokia 500 for as little as 350 Euro.

We considerate a smart buy.
