I've heard of those events and admit that the Mig-15 was better in many aspects than the F86It could fly higher and was slightly faster at level flight,but that was countered by our gun sights and some other factors.We still ended up downing around 380 to the 80 lost

Wow, really, 1 F-16 and 1 F117, incredible. Compared to the migs we shot down that's nothing. What is the ratio, like 200:1. We crippled the Serbian Air defenses in the blink of an eye. The F-117 isn't meant to be a fighter, BTW. It's more of an attack plane. It did a splendid job in Iraq taking down their defenses.I'm sick of reading your Russian fan boy crap. Wrong - F-15's in the US, not Israel, have shot down 5 Iraqi Mig 29's,7 F-1's,8 Mig 23's, 2 Mig 21's,1 II-76,2 Su 25,3 Su7/17,2 Su22, 2 Mig 25, 4 Serb Mig 29's; Israel 15's have shot down 80-92 Fishbeds and several Foxbats. The F-16's have shot down 2 Mig 29's (1 US, 1 Dutch). Israel F-16 have shot down over 40 Syrian Migs, mostly Floggers.

That's not true, and YOU can believe what you want. Historically back to the Korean War we have shot down many more Migs than visa-versa. We're not afraid of anything. That's why we invited India and its Su-30MKI fighters to Redflag in August of this year. It s/b interesting.

I agree that Russian planes are cheaper and a great plane for the buck. But I've read many articles that the planes aren't very reliable, and that's one of the reasons why Russian pilots don't get much flight time. I haven't heard that the whole world thinks Russian planes are the best, either. I have read that the F22 is very reliable, and has low maintenance. When they recently flew in Redflag they had over a 95% success sortie rate. Unheard of for prior US standards.

Of course, each superpower have its own opinion about superiority of its military technology. But don't forget about the rest of the World.
The whole World (except Americans and Brits) considers Russian military planes are the best - effective, cheaper, reliable - the main enginery factors during the warfare and American planes, on the contrary, are too expensive, difficult and unreliable, it's a fact. Ask someone else, not Russians nor Americans.

OpelGTC,I didn't say American planes don't have their problems.I said that a fully operational Mig 23 wasn't all cracked up to what was advertised by Russia.All planes have their maintenance issues.That's why we retired the F-14.You knock the F-22 yet your country is so desperate with India to build a stealth plane that looks like it.Your radar isn't as advanced as AESA, but I will give you credit that you have very good missiles. In a dogfight, I think your planes are great, but not at BVR.

You Russian poster boys always claim your stuff is better. The Russians are known for bragging about their equipment. Just look at the Mig 23 that the US got when your pilot defected to Japan. It didn't have nearly the balls your country claimed. And, the Mig 29's we tested in Germany when the wall came down, they can't handle sustained g's, and it took pressing 15-20 buttons to launch a missle vs. the US of just one. Keep talking, your opinions carry no weight.

RussianPower666, I can always count on you for a good laugh. The Su50 is an attempt by your sorry ass to copy the F22. Copies never are as good as the real thing. Just look at how China is trying to copy your jet engines. Nothing but junk. By the time you field a 5th generation plane, we'll have a 6th generation plane in the air that will be unmanned, and therefore can pull more g's, fly higher, faster, farther than anything out there.

ronjiort, sorry but Cope India was a joke. The F15's used did not have the latest radar, weren't permitted to use BVR or AWACs. The numbers were lopsided agianst the F-15's, from 3-1 ro 6-1 planes against US. We played aggressors, and didn't use US tactics.Also it was widely reported that the US didn't show its best so that the F-22 could get funded.Congress thought the plane cost too much and didn't want to fund it.The USAF used this exercise as an opportunity to get the plane they wanted.

i heard the weapons bay door was jammed open and you know what that would do to a nighthawk also those redflag wargames they are talking i read an iteresting comment the U.S.A.F. wanted their birds to loose so congress would open up the checkbook and those results where not reality
