Do you know where the arts "first" started? Indonesia - China - Okinawa - Japan - United States, Now I may have miss a few places but these are the main line of how the art as a hole made it's way. Also it did not started out as a fighting art but through time it evolved to this, it was spiritual first.
So if your trying to compare one art to another think about it - the heart of all technic is like looking into a merrier, the style is just a variation of that art or technic.

im not trying to put any other arts down but i just can't see kung fu beating karate..now i know it depends on the person but the movements in karate are realy fighting techniques that you could use

Man, I can't believe what is said about Karate. If you understand and are one with Karate, then what are you trying to proof? Did you all forget Karate is about having respect? Respect for our senor borthers "Called Masters"....
Only a true student would know this, no matter what rank you hold and for those who have just started studing Karate (under 10 years), you still have a lot to learn Oooss.

3 years and you think you uderstand Karate, I don't think so. I've been studing for 32 years and I'm still learning. You have to give any art a chance to become one with yourself. It's not the art but the undrstanding of it the art that you learn, then everything will come in time.

Yes, the throws and grabs are basic but you must understand, it is from the basic that all techniques flow from. You can not master any technique if you over look the basic.

The "very basic" throws and grabs are the only ones that work in real life. ;) That said, this video is ridiculous. Karate's techniques are not "godly." It's physics, not divine power. The ultimate weapon is not the human body. And Okinawan karate is mother of sport karate, not all martial arts. Whoever made this video just accepted a heap of propoganda as fact.

Nice demos, although caling Karate the mother of all martial arts is incorrect. Karate is comparatively new. These guys are from the Goju/Shorin/Uechi branch, which is basically Chinese Chan-fa mixed with indigenous Okinawan Tode.
About the brash comment, anybody can be knocked out, it doesn't matter who you are (well except Mark Hunt). And lets face it, people make styles. It's not karate's fault you faced a chump. And before anybody flames, I'm a Karate black belt, and I also do MMA.

karate master is not a sportsman as well as
athlete.Of course they might lose in the ring of Pride or octagon of UFC.

Karate is gay? you must have faced a crumby teacher. because I use it and no one my size has been able to take me... but then again I am only 150. I lace in champion boxers. UFC fighters are far more intense though I agree

the chi(qui) sao as you refer in this documentary is no different from the one practiced by the shaolin monks in traditional wushu. all come from the original martial art of kaliaripayattu that originated thousands of years ago from southern india.
