In Ancient Egypt, the dead were buried with small figurines called shabtis. Their duty was to work for the dead for eternity.
The music represents the voyage of the dead by boat. As the monks chant, the drummers beat time for the rowers.
The animation is super high-tech!!

    Hi Mr Bassman.
The sound at the end is just the chanting being faded in and out. The chanting is lots of double and triple tracking, with some nasally whining, and maybe this is the sitar-type sound.
When the verse stops, you may hear some strange guitar sounds -- this is where I did what cellists call "col legno tratto", i.e. dragging the back of the bow across the strings instead of the horsehair. In my case, there was no bow, just an old drumstick!

I'll be taking my hat off to the Gents and my pal Richard. Nice sounds. Is that a real sitar towards the end?
