There was a time when intelligent monologues were considered worthwhile. He wasn't up there just to be funny-- he pointed out truths, and hypocrisy and ironies in the society. He put himself on the line to defend free speech, and fight against the repressive climate of the 1950s. He went to JAIL for it. Give him some credit.

What I meant was if you see a WASPy face(because of the huge presence of Irish Americans, their assimilation into anglo America not being uncommon, and producing a mainly anglo population [today:8.7-19.5%] with Irish [today 12%] mix), that WASP prolly has an Irish ancestor. That isn't to say some families hardly or didn't intermarry, or don't know, and identify exclusively with one. I didn't include the largest group, Germans; Scots-Irish, other Europeans or how they diversified some trees.

Well to get technical,the term "anglo" derives from the word.."Angles".Which were a germanic tribe that invaded what we now know as England.And they were NOT Celtic/Irish.But they did shove most of the Celts out of England and into Ireland,Scotland,and Wales.you are familiar with those three CONQUERED countries,are you not?
