  • "No. Science hasn't ...

"No. Science hasn't proven anything. You can never prove anything, all you can do is create theories that have stood the test of time by not being falsified. We'll never prove anything. That's a huge mistake people make by saying that we have "proved" something by some sort of research."

Only if you agree with a Popperian view of science, which is pretty dubious.

  • This guy was ...

This guy was totally wrong when he says that "There can't be a free floating qualia."

Yeah there can be, its called your soul outside of your body. It is a real phenomenon of the universe and you will experience it someday.

Wake up and smell reality, if we have "qualia" now then we must have always had some sort of "qualia" or as I would say "awareness of being an observer."

There isn't this stark contrast between existence and nonexistence in the universe.

  • Now, don't confuse ...

Now, don't confuse the word neurotic with neuronal. Just in case someone's awareness and attentional balance are not on par. Nothing to be ashamed of, perhaps a little.

  • Consciousness isn't ...

Consciousness isn't a linguistic phenomenon. Language is thought. Thought can be turned off in some forms of meditation. Consciousness can actually be enhanced due to the discontinuation of thought, pure awareness is either hindered by laxity or excitation, or pure awareness is increased due to attentional balance. With the in-breath, the body-mind is excited, with the out-breath, the body-mind is relaxed. The result is a sharp awareness that starves the neurotic thoughts of their momentum.

  • I already know that ...

I already know that, whats your point? All i said was the prefrontal cortex is unique to mankind. I understand that reality is merely a display of probability waves. How could u make assumptions of ones level of knowledge based on one sentence?

"" I GUESS ITS HOW ONE DEFINES CONSCIOUSNESS, THAT IS THE DETERMINING FACTOR "",as I said before, and you and I define it the same way, as quantum physics shows.

:) You must be in pre-school, am I right? Hmm... What would you say, of what is prefrontal cortex built of? Maybe atoms? And WHAT are atoms? They are mostly empty... They are ENERGY. And you say... ah, whatever. Live and learn.

  • Science has proven ...

Science has proven that consciousness lies mainly the prefrontal cortex, a part of the brain unique to mankind.

I guess its how one defines consciousness that is the determining factor.

  • why the emphasis on ...

why the emphasis on the uniquiness of humans, i wonder? The claim that there is not a sensation, some amount of qualia, to being an animal is clearly false. One can claim consciousness is somehow a linguistic phenomenon. Still, animals have linguistic capabilities. As he said, the fly has a representation of apple. The dog's representation of apple (or owner) is going to be much richer, the human's still richer.
