  • Your concept would ...

Your concept would work OK, but you probably already figured out that your nylon rope wick was a bad idea. Probably melted on the first burn. And the cotton thread burns away. Get a handful of fiberglass insulation, use it to stuff the box, put a few slots in the tape cover to expose the fiberglass wick, and you'll do a lot better. You can get small amounts of fiberglass in the HW store as pipe wrap.

Im glad you did that outside.

You have some good ideas. Sometimes putting several ideas into a single project at once can become unsafe. Take your time with each idea, and experiment with them separately before putting them together.

Stove experiments often explode. Please be careful.

  • ya bud...sorry! ...

ya bud...sorry! not exactly the safest stove..i'd rather build a small twig fire. that wick is all wrong & with that much fuel on it that nylon rope should be nice & melted & hard when it cools & shouldn't blow out!! Try goin with a smaller wick. that might be useful if you were trying to warm yourself up in 30 degree weather. keep tryin
