i love that solo, but its a pre-rehearsed one (im pretty sure it is). The only live solo ive heard him do that i loved was an incredible one at the end of dont forget me live at slane castle. That ones amazing, go look it up :)

he just gived some rythm for kids to have fun in fron of camera... mayer is just a COPY of SRV, with nice, pop voice. he didint innovate guitar playing in any way and he have to show that he deserve for fame he get as a guitarist. Frusciante is league for his own. He got his own style, own music and he dont have to prove anything to anyone.

Because he is not a complete guitarist, he is a guitarist of pop rock, a legend is someone who innovates in the instrument and manages to dominate it like Hendrix did.

theres a difference between hendrix inspired and then just nicking all his licks. Tbh, i often like frusciantes riffs for songs, but ive never been able to stand his solos.
