    I have it because i'm lazy to stir. :P

    You can stir it yourself. The important thing is to keep it from crusting onto the sides of the pot while it's boiling. then when it gets down to 90% stop stirring and just watch for the floating crust. (you've seen pt2 right?)

    the only time i tried it I used potassium iodide instead of yeast. I suppose it could work with yeast. But i haven't gotten around to testing it. It you want to test it, try it on a very small scale, like a quarter cup.
