Not America's fault if HK makes amazing weapons, its Germany's. Props to them.

Its not americas fault that germany can produce great guns. the mp5? made by H&K. the g36? made by H&K. even another possible m-16/m-4 replacement weapon(XM-8) was designed by H&K. true the AK-47 is a great rifle, but not accurate. and so what it looks like the m-4, they wanted to keep the gun body similar to what US troops curently use.
and just so you know H&K is most likely going to sell the 416 for civilian use non select fire (obviously). used in middle east, has great reviews by soldiers.

that history channel video? they used the cheapest AK they could find, what you saw in the high speed video is 100% cheap AK, not the rounds fault.

If you like the looks of the 416 thats great, I'm not going to knock that. But you can't determine the quality of any item by looking at a video. The only thing you know of its quality is what HK tells you and they tend to tell a few fibs. We won't ever be able to find out for yourself because HK won't sell them to us. Select fire or otherwise.

Jayce, i was simply talking i have seen in high speed videos, and also the shape of the entry when shooting further down range. I actually saw it a while back on a video on here comparing the AK and the M16 (pretty sure it was the military model and not the AR15).

As for falling in love with a gun i'll never see, i can still appreciate a good weapon even if i'll never see it, right? Granted i'd love to own one, and i can own a semi auto version, but still, it's a damn fine gun.

HK claims a lot of things. One AK may average that, another may do better, one may do worse. Built quality between AKs varies to a wide degree. MOA accuracy isn't the point in a utilitarian rifle.

An Ak-47 will average 3-6 MOA. The claimed testing of the HK 416 is around 1.5 MOA. But yeah it's cheap and has practical accuracy and ME for close-medium range targets. Different guns for different purposes.

The AK in fact is not that innaccurate considering wut the caliber is and wut its used for. if u want sumthin for long range, its called a sniper rifle. THE AK IS THE BEST AUTOMATIC OUT THERE

Its a little silly to fall in love with a weapon you won't ever see in person, let alone shoot, unless your military, even then its unlikely. If you are military, you'll probably end up with the SCAR once it trickles down from SOCOM. If you want a piston AR there are several companies that offer one you can actually buy, like today.

The Kalishnikov, while i love it, does have it's faults. The wide and short bullet makes it tumble in midair and thus it's not good for long range, but for stopping power nothing beats it. I've fallen in love with both the ak47 and the hk416, both have different uses and both are wonderful.

the AK47 is accurate enough for practical application, doesn't jam very often and its cheap. So yeah, it wins.
