Kim Peek - The Real Rain Man (1/5)

This is an amazing film. The Rain Man has raised awareness of the condition and Kim is an inspiration. In the UK a call will go out from the Autism Awareness Campaign UK on World Autism Day on 2nd April (designated by the United Nations)for Prime Minister Gordon Brown and Children's Secretary Ed Balls to back a national strategy on autism and a 10 year plan of action to help parents, carers, children and adults with autism and Asperger's Syndrome.Please see the AUTISM ACTION film on youtube.

Totally fascinating. It just goes to show how much we do not know about how the brain works. I loved the film rainman and had no idea that it was based on Kim's story. I want to read the biography now!!

People who do not understand "mental retardation" label others as mentally retarded. There are many facets to the brain and I prefer to use: dysfunctional brain disorder. My son has partial agenesis of the corupus callosum. (P-ACC) check it out under agenesis of the corupus callosum. Autistic people and those with dysfunctional brain disorders are amazing people.
