Johnny Mathis does a simply flawless version of this song. It's absolutely beautiful. There is no better singer in the world or this lifetime than our dear Johnny Mathis. I love him and ALL of his music. I just saw him in Cleveland, Oh on Nov. 6th, 2008 and got my picture taken with him plus he was kind enough to autograph 2 photos made out to me...Thank you for sharing this song/video for all the world to hear.

I knew about the movie. You and I seem to like the same songs. I'm so glad you like this one. As I played it before uploading, I got all teary-eyed. It's such a lovely rendition of the lyrics. And, as I also said in a comment here, it does sound like a hymn. Right from the soul.

Johnny really does a superb job on this song. When I first heard it, it sounded like a prayer, as if inside the hollow acoustics of a cathedral. What I find amusing is that it's from the movie, "Play Misty For Me." In other words, the title is a request to sing a Johnny Mathis hit song!

I'm so glad you liked it. I think the lyrics are so lovely because they were written by a Scottish man for his wife. And, Johnny sings it almost like a hymn. A love bond is very spiritual. Beautifully done by Johnny Mathis, as usual.
