Corrie Ten Boom Remembers

If I may chime in. Corrie's would say the following. It is about me. I had hate in my heart. I could not forgive. She never talked about another but she judged herself. When she saw hate she asked Jesus to help replace it to His love. You see Corrie found out herlove was weak.Jesus love was perfect. If Corrie or any other preach any other message. They only miss it. It is not about works for what are works without love. Isa 53:6

If a "jesus" did not observe all of the scriptures concerning him (the Torah) then he would be no Jesus, at all, in my opinion. Corrie said this and it is true " With Jesus in you... you have a burden for souls". She was also a millinealist and the notion of a secret rapture was not a part of her belief, nor was it embraced in the ten Boom household. The same Beje that was home to prayer meetings for the Jews since the mid-1800s.

Brother, this is where we differ and it may just be that your heart is so inclined (a burden for it). I have seen American Evangelicals try to assimilate ten Boom's testimony. Katheryn Koolman, Pat Robertson, John Hagee.... they only seem to be interested in the fact that she helped Jews during the war (which is good) but the Dutch Reformed Church of which she was a part held some doctrines contrary to ours as American Evangelicals. Her world view was based on this and her experiences.

Good point. We are told in Ephesians 5 to "walk circumspectly, not as fools, but as wise." So we need to keep an eye out all around.

I do think, however, that antisemitism is a special case, simply because hatred against God's Chosen People keeps popping up in different disguises through history. Bible-believers are also commanded in Deut 25 to "remember Amalek." We are not being obedient if we forget.

With all due respect, I do not disagree with anything you have said in this posting. If you will take the time to examine her story, you will see that they joined the resistance through Wilhelm only after the invasion. Be that as it may, in this life there is an "anti" for every "pro". Judaism, Christianity, Abortion, Nuclear armament, and even Arab interests. Jesus sees every side. If all you are worried about is anti-Semitic hate crimes then that leaves all other fronts wide open.

My statement was not a fatalist rant, it was common sense based on what we are seeing around us today.

Certainly God gives us the grace we need for trials when (and not before) we need it, but that should not keep us from using our brains (as Corrie did) to prepare to fight the evil.

Corrie ten Boom helped PEOPLE, not Jews exclusively. If she is only remembered for helping the Jews then you have only a small part of her testimony. She also helped rehabilitate ex-nazis and refugees after the war. She taught feeble minded children about Jesus before the war. As far as preparing ourselves Kasper ten Boom once told Corrie " God gives us our ticket just before we get on the train". That is a profound statment, think about it before another of your fatalist rants.

Susan is doing an important work in causing us to think about the Ten Boom's sacrifice and causing us to exercise our mental muscles using the concepts with which she struggled. As history is repeating itself now, and the dark Jew-hating incarnation of Nazism is reincarnated in Islam, it is necessary that we prepare ourselves mentally and spiritually.

The Ten Booms are some of my greatest modern heroes of the faith. Real honest to goodness Bible loving, Jewish honoring, willing to share in the sufferings of Christ, uncompromising Christians. I believe I will meet them someday in Heaven and tell them how they helped me to forgive the petty resentments I've had from time to time. They are an inspiring family.

This woman truly is an inspiration to us all of what we can do with the faith of God. She showed us what we can really do as long as we never give up. Perseverance is just another word for faith. Thank you Corrie. Thank you for resotring my faith in our Lord.

I usually try not to question, but are you sure? It really looks nothing like her in the face. At the end of the vid, one of the reviewers called it a performance. I think it is someone portraying her.

Yes what a blessing she has been to me too. I noticed you are in Norway. My Great Grandfather was from there. His name is Bjorstad.
