  • focal point

very nice. The focal point of a cylindrical mirror is at its center. if you move the black pipe to the top of the trough (center of the circle) it should increase your efficency

Have you ever considered adding a central forum to your website where all the viewers could come together and discuss the videos and possibly some new ideas? I think that would be great, and easier to keep track of than all these scattered youtube comments :) Keep up the good work! P.S. I sent you an email.

The ease way is to pipe this prior to your water heater. This keeps your thermostat less active. Just need to divert the supply with valves at night and if it is really cloudy or cold as it will work against you. There are other ways with heat exchangers and solar pumps that circulate the water for electric free hot water. Same rules apply for no sun days.

  • A 10' section ...

A 10' section produces 600 watts of heating power. This shorter section produces 200 watts of heat energy. This is for heating water. We have had 2 weeks of almost no sun in Florida. Today was good. Will have a follow up video soon. 40' would be enough for a 20k-30k gallon pool adding about 10 degrees over a few days. With a solar blanket 20k pool reaches over 100F in Florida. I would cover them with plexi to make cleaning easier. Not hard, but they do get dusty like everything else. Pollen.
