no lion can kill an adult elephant. not even it has a gun. elephants have skin similar to rhinos its to thick to bight through. and elephants kill lions all the time.

lions can kill elephants if they out number it but an elephant can't kill a lion. its to slow.
a single lion can kill and elephant if they bight at the right spot because once they bight they can hold on for hours.

You people seem to think being the King of the Jungle means they can kill every animal in their kingdom, in fact actual kings from midevil time are strong and would lose if put against an average joe to warrior. What makes lions the king is the power it has, the roar all animals even animals that outweigh or are stronger respect and take good notice when the lion announces its presence. Tigers will never had that respect.

It takes a stroke of immense luck (injuring the trunk so the elephant starves, or *maybe* scratching out/biting through eye balls) for any large cat, lion OR tiger, to single handedly kill an adult elephant. Both have tried and failed. Lion prides have killed them with success, but most of these were subadults.
