    Great video on the cell biology of chlamydia. Explains how chlamydiae evade the cells defences by secreting proteins, and also by hijacking the cell's own lipid supply to cloak themselves. Ironic since the word chlamydia means "to cloak". For this reason Chlamydial infections (whether C. trachomatis or C. pnuemoniae) can be very difficult to get rid of. Add in "persistance" (a dormant state which the chlamydiae can enter) and you have a very tricky customer indeed.
