i guess everyone watched this movie today or the day before...this shall be ever know as

constant sorrow day...maybe something with a more upbeat tune to it that sounds a wee bit depressing

In my English class we just finished watching the movie and reading the Odyssey.

i read it at school and we watched this movie. it was pretty cool and this song is plain awesome.

i got two kids - one's 2 yrs old and the other 2 weeks old. together i call them the soggy bottom boys

thank you someone else who thinks culture today is messed up i mean less than half of today's kids of not even heard of the Odyssey

You're talking out of your ass, man. I'm sorry. Very, very few people can link the Sirens and the Cyclops to the Odyssey without having at least read the cliff's notes. Where, and I mean this literally, WHERE in popular culture is this coming up?

Not to mention all the rest (Pete turning into a frog, the blind seer, the flood). The movie is FULL of links.

To suggest you can know this without reading is simply crazy. Is there a children's cartoon I'm unaware of that said all these things?

I don't believe they ever claimed to have not read The Odyssey, I believe they claimed to have never seen the original Oh Brother Where Art Thou, which seems even less likely as it's pretty damn similar.
