This is a video showing the relationship and commitment Mickey Hargitay had with his family and especially his daughter, Mariska.
Mariska has given lots of credit to her dad about her growing up to be who she is as an actress as well as a person.

Then Mariska having Mr.August, and how Mickey has shown her the right path. To always believe in your children and to give them unconditional love, ALWAYS!!

    Wow....That was soo great. I know that in interviews and things that Mariska always talks about making her father happy and everything. It's so great to see a family in the spotlight such as theirs be so grounded and family-oriented. Some families like that can let the fame get to them. But not the Hargitays.     Very nice tribute. Mickey was obviously proud of his family & family was important to him. I think he had good grounding, it's good to keep your feet on the ground, even if your head is in the clouds. I think he always had a good grasp of reality, Jayne I feel struggled with that greatly.

    Regardless, RIP Mickey.
