In my live video chat, I was asked, why do black holes have such stronger gravity than the stars they formed from?

Here's my answer.

  • There are different ...

There are different "forces" in the Creation. The magnetic force is not the same as gravitational acceleration. Gravity is actually not a 'force'. F=(M)x(A), force is defined as a mass x acceleration. This equation is also written as F=(M)x(g), where (g)is the gravitational acceleration on Earth = 9.8 meters per sec. per sec. or meters per sec. squared. gravity is a weak attraction; Electrical 'force' within the atom is much greater

  • Come again?I'm a ...

Come again?I'm a student in electrical engineering, which means I don't have any expertise on astronomy but I *do* know quite a lot about electrostatic and magnetostatic fields(sorry if these are not the right words, english is not my first language so I try to translate the terms as best I can).In the case of black holes I thought it was only their gravity that was noteworthy, but if electromagnetic fields have anything to do with their behaviour that would be very interesting.So...care to xplain?

If in a binary star system, one of them turned into a black hole, the other would be sucked in. If they turned into black holes at the exact same moment, well I don't know probably a Binary black hole system or something.
