Ilena got in way over her head. She is scared in this scene and mad. Doesn't really know what to expect with the baby coming and wants Caine's help. If she had been mature she would not have gotten involved with him and waited until she was older and married to do this kind of thing.

A strong lesson for all youths, but it can apply to anyone regardless of age. Commitment comes first. That is something Caine was lacking indicating he didn't really care about Ilena. He got stuck doing stuff at the last minute and this really messed him and Ilena up. I doubt he really got to know her well.

He just saw Ilena as an easy lay.....not as a girlfriend. That's why her scenes were edited out, cause they weren't really needed......you don't see any scenes of them going out on dates do you? Cause it's meant to be that way.

How much older is Pernell than Ronnie? If they have a 5-year-old son, Ronnie must be older than Caine. In the flashback, Pernell appears to be a good 10 years older than 5-year-old Caine. So, Ronnie has to be a little older than Caine otherwise she was barely a teen and had a baby with a grown man in his early 20s. That is some scary stuff and we never learn about her parents. They aren't even shown.

It's so sad that it had to come to this. Caine finished high school! His grandparents were so happy for him in the beginning...now his violent ways have him forced out the house. If he had picked better friends and listened to his grandparents as a child this wouldn't have occurred. He wouldn't be forced to leave prematurely. He wouldn't have lost the respect of his grandparents. This is so so sad.

If Caine can be a father-figure to Anthony, he can be a father to his own child! If he has room in his heart to protect and care for Ronnie, then he has room to have concern for Ilena too! They are both humans (moms) equally deserving of respect, compassion, honor, and love.

This was a chance for Caine to show he really cares for Ilena just as a human being and he blew it! If he had the same desire of compassion to help Ilena that he already had for Ronnie, then no doubt I feel Caine wouldn't have hesitated to tell her of his plans to move to A.T.L. and brought her along.
