Having read the comments regarding this vid i cannot believe the number of people that still believe that elite strongmen and bodybuilders aren't on steriods. I personally do not support the use of steriods- but still respect athletes such as magnus that do. Yes these people have great genetics and have worked incredibley hard to achieve what they have, but that only takes you so far. The fact is that performance enhancing drugs are everywhere in top sport these days.

the 50kg chimp can hang on the tree branch with 1 or 2 arms for as long as we can stand. you think any human has the grip strength to do that? ask some strong dude to go squeeze a chimp hand, see who gets hurt

  • Magnus' feats of ...

Magnus' feats of strength are impressive, but are mere child's play to any non-human primate. A female chimpanzee could squeeze that grip with minimal effort-nevermind a big silverback gorilla.

  • A silverback ...

A silverback gorilla is ten times stronger than the strongest human, and at an average weight of 400 plus pounds could easily curl that weight like it was nothing. Gorilla's in the wild have been known to break bamboo as thick as four inches with minimal effort. Gorillas, like chimps and orangutans are much stronger than humans and would easily rip magnus' arm off and beat him with it-mind you, magnus is still exceptional for a human being.

No untrained silverback gorilla curls 140kg 1 arm, where do u get that mumbo jumbo from? What's so special with silverback gorilla anyway? A same-sized tiger will tear it apart in the blink of an eye.
It takes 167kg of pressure to close CoC No. 4.

  • It does sound a bit ...

It does sound a bit ridiculous though. I'm sure a silverback gorilla could curl it with one arm, but a human--well, let's just say it sounds absurd.

  • Well as you stated ...

Well as you stated earlier with proper technique the amount of weight decreases-so clearly if he had to put his back against a wall and just rely on his biceps alone there is no way he would be able to curl that weight, and likewise in the bench press, he wouldn't be able to bench 270kg without arching his back. That said, i think we can still assume based on these numbers that he's still exceptionally strong in these particular disciplines.

That sounds impressive, but what if magnus closes the distance between you and him and decides to pick you up with one arm and choke you until you pass out?

  • No one is disputing ...

No one is disputing your conditioning, but you can't underestimate magnus' size and power-what he lacks in technique he makes up for in size and strength-which incidently, is a big factor in mma. All the champs are extremely strong and well-conditioned.
