Perhaps no airplane is better remembered from the air races of the 1930's than the record breaking fat little GeeBee.R-1, one of the first high performance airplanes. Some considered the little red and white racer dangerous. It required good pilots and runways. The pilot in this video is marginal. The runway is narrow. The Granville Brothers built several similar airplanes.
