There are at least 11 dimension the scientist know there must be. But Things living in lower Dimensions, like humans in the Third, cant get the Dimension that are higher than that, so you people cant know how it looks like, but you can theoreticly think about it how it MUST look like

  • According to ...

According to Charles Hinton in The Fourth Dimension one can view a rotation as a time series. So for each point in time we could say there is a 4d tesseract but with a different orientation. 4 spacial dimensions plus 1 temporal dimension is a 5d space-time. Hinton actually considered the case where a time dimension was rotated together with a space dimension.

I understand the generation of the 4D tesseract in time-space. What I don't get is how rotating this along 3 axis generates a 5D structure. Sorry I'm a bit of a newbie on this.

  • idiots please.... ...

idiots please.... as anyone who has ever thought hard enough about this could tell you.. video is always a 2d "REPRESENTATION" of what exists in dimensions greater than the second.. for instance if you saw a cube rotating in this video you would recognize it as a cube even though it is only being projected in the two dimensions of the screen... what this video does, is just take the same projection or "shadow" concept and apply it to a 4d tesseract...ie we are looking at its 2d shadow

idiots, this is a 4th spacial dimension, it doesn't exist in our universe, so time is OUR 4th, but there can be a 4th SPACIAL dimension, with time being the 5th!

That looks cool but its not 4d or 5d. Really if there is a fourth demension them name it. 1D = length 2D = Length and width. 3D = length width and hight and finally 4D = length witdth height and time. Demensions are things you can measure. time is one of them

u cant really even make of draw something thats 4D

  • The word tessera ...

The word tessera comes from the Greek word τεσσεραγονος which means "four sided" referring to a square. Tessera in English means a square tile. So the "four rays" could refer to the four sides of one of the faces which is why one might use tesseract when speaking about extensions of the cube to higher dimensions.

Thanks for the correction. Tesseract comes from the Greek phrase "τέσσερεις ακτίνες" which means "four rays" referring to 4d.
