I agree with you....even though I think Wiener is NOT, repeat NOT a conservative in the mold of Reagan, Levin, etc. He's a populist, pro-union, pro-green, etc.

Nevertheless, I think I take your main point, which is that all of these guys could put aside professional competitiveness just a tad to stand together for principle on occasion. This is big problem I have with Rush Limbaugh, for whom I have enormous respect. I'd like to see a BIT more of a sense of brotherhood with the like-minded.

I am a big fan of Levin. He's by far the smartest guy on talk radio.

But does anyone know specifically who he is referring to when he talks about the "backbenchers" in the morning? It isn't Wiener, because he names him out loud. My best guess is BIll Bennett who I regard as an ersatz conservative.....but does he have some other specific person(s) in mind? It seems that he does.

But unfortunately Obama would just turn to meaningless emotional talking points.

Let's face it, they're both bright men. I also like Levin but am disappointed that he (and every other talkshow host) are not standing by Savage's side in this matter.

Unfortunately big egos get in the way of such comradery.

i dont see savage as a bum..levin is a genius and have nothing but respect for him..why does dr levin dislike him so much?
