I'm sure you would enjoy the Adagietto from Mahler's 5th symphony...Sad and brooding but, finally, uplifting.

for sure it was aired on sept.15, but this term was setted BEFORE 9/11 happened. ihad tryed to get tickets for it in may 2001, but it was sold out.

Sure, you're damn right, that sad for innocent people killed by american bombs, but that's also sad for every innocent people on Earth that has been killed by others for political or economical reasons. Each and every country throughout the world has its own reasons to be ashame for killing innocent people, as every country throughout the world has its own reasons to cry for its losses.

emotion;just not the same one.This song evokes a peaceful tone.The Tiesto rmx cause it to create a an exciting mood.I respect your opinion in that you probably don't like electronic music,but don't ever degrade it by saying that people listen to it when they are high,because the same could be said about this song too.

Acutally the piece was composed many years ago by Samuel Barber.
Barber's "Adagio for Strings" originated as the second movement in his String Quartet No. 1, Op. 11, composed in 1936.

In fact I remember listening to Adagio For Strings, while it was played at the funeral for our United States President John F. Kennedy, after his assasination in 1963.
The piece can be heard in films such as Platoon, The Elephant Man.

The description says that this was aired on Sept. 15 2001. That is way to soon for someone to compose a beautiful piece like this and scedule it to air on tv, but people just want to associate the two becuase they occured so close together and this song sounds mournful and peaceful. It is a great peice and should be enjoyed for its quality.

damn, you´re so f****ing right man. converting something like this great song without honoring the componist is a BIG shame.

i love trance but ripping a classical masterpiece and converting it into dance/trance is not a good deed as the composer of this masterpiece worked so hard for it, and dj's like tiesto who lacks originality, he just made money and fame off it by modifying it...and claiming that it's his work, he didn't even care to write samuel barber (tiesto mix), he just took the song name and replaced it with his own..i don't know about you people but i think it's shameful.

What Tiesto does IS music, I don't know what you would say music is, but simple drumming is music, African, and even Black Metal IS music so you haven't understood the concept "Music".
