Dynasty : Alexis and Dominique Catfight

around 1:07 looked like Alexis perforemd a catfight tackle or Domanique did a slighty botched DDT

But Knots Landing was also never number one.

I don't think anybody knew what to make of Falcon Crest. To this day I can't remember a single episode.

And yet, Knots Landing outlasted Dynasty and it's parent show Dallas.

I think this is only partially true... the first two catfights between Krystle and Alexis were not for "ratings" -- however, after that they did become ridiculously obvious (esp. the mud bath)... Rita/Krystle was justified as well ;)

Catfights are the one thing that set Dynasty apart from the other nighttime soaps of the 80's. I think a catfight, on Knots Landing might have added the spice I think it needed. I find Dallas and Knots both quite boring actually. I'm not quite sure about Falcon Crest, but I guess that says enough. It seemed boring too.

These cat fights were written in the show for a purpose. The moment the ratings slipped or they were losing ground to Dallas, (the other major soap at the time ) a cat fight would be thrown in to boost the ratings. It became so transparent and obvious that viewers began to see the catfight for what it truly was, something silly to the point of being laughable, as you can see here.

When Alexis says "ow you bitch!" look behind her. Her back is facing her bed/end table and door to her bedroom. Instead behind her are her closets and her trunk with the red silk thing on top. An obvious choice in editing to move that clip to a different place in sequence.

LOL..Dominique didnt beat the S**t out off her like she should have, but she let miss alexis have it...and she told alexis "anytime you want more, ill be waiting for you."

When Dominique throws the ashtray Alexis ducks to her right and then she rises from her left. I would have had the fight more intense. Take out those flowers in the alcoves, smash that big white vase, knock a chair over and rip some silk!

She won that one. LOL. Dominique was pathetic.

just for the record...alexis has never once won a single fight on dynasty.....

I can't wait for this to be released on dvd. It was closer to a tie. Dominique was getting the better of her at the end and then Adam came in and broke it up. The truth of the matter is it shouldn't have been that close. Dominique told Alexis she was a street fighter. I never saw anyone from the street ever fight like that. Homegirl should've swept the floor with Alexis.
