All you idiots saying Markus isn't strong and all that BS. I would like to see you hang with him during a workout. Unless you look better than him you have no room to speak. Markus has the most massive shoulders EVER(FACT) and he is also a great guy. I got his autograph at a show and I took a pic with him. Great guy and he takes time out for fans.

Any "more complicated mathematical formula" would be the biggest, dumbest waste of time ever.

Someone who has spent years on a smith machine would convert very differently. Someone who doesn't spend time on free weights might only be able to do half of what they can on a smith machine. People are built differently.

There is no way to know how much Markus could press by converting what he can do in a machine movement to a free weight movement.

going by experience with myself & others in the gym, u can lift approx 15-20% more weight on a smith machine than the equivalent free bar movement. im sure theres a more complicated mathematical formula for it im just approximating. this is because u dont need to balance the weight with a smith machine

It wouldn't be "approx equivalent" to jack S**t You can't estimate something like that. Obviously he couldn't free weight press the weight overhead.

markus is class and strong as hell

the yellow plates are 15kg. so the total is about 225kg (including bar). remembering smith machine presses are about 20% easier than a free bar, then this would be approx equivalent to a 185kg free bar press (i.e. 4 standard plates each side). still extremely strong but not as freaky as it initially looks

12 plates is insane for a shoulder press. He's went heavier then that. I've heard numbers in the 600lbs range. Marcus would more then likely out do even most power lifters. He's larger then Ronnie or anyone else but it doesn't seem he comes in as cut. Its not just size but symentry. But yeah I agree pure size should have won him the Arnold a few times. He should have one more!!! Bias pricks anyways

yes but that is why hes is completely out of proportion..he has terrible tricep, his waist is bigger than ronnies, and his legs are completely out of proportion.
