Dwight Howard, a center for the Orlando Magic basketball team, and his strength coach Joe Rogowski teach the Bench Press. ""Bench press is just total upper body and strengh. Dwight's sets and reps, have a routine that Dwight really enjoys. He does a pyramid technique, and increases weight, until he gets to his max set of two reps. The pyramid takes endurence and strength, and most importantly for his position because he is a power player, increased the power in the fast twich muscle fibers. A lot of athletes, when they do the bench press, forget about their core strength, and really hypeextend their lower back. So, one of the things you need to be careful with is that you are not hyper-extending too much and over doing it.""

  • You can tell just ...

You can tell just by looking at this video, that he has no experience weight lifting. He uses no form whatsoever. You can tell that half of those weights are rubber, because someone as skinny as this guy could never lift the 455lbs that seems to be on the bar. This guy is a freaking string bean... anyone that think he is lifting 400 plus pounds that easy is an idiot. PS the bar is not remotely bending as it would if that kind of weight was being used.

  • xergr you're an ...

xergr you're an uneducated moron. don't talk about things you know nothing about.

the lifts you are describing are OLYMPIC lifts. Powerlifters squat, bench and deadlift.

And Ronnie Coleman WAS a powerlifter, hence he was and is ridiculously strong. Almost all of the best bodybuilders began in powerlifting (Arnold!)

  • The Jerk is where ...

The Jerk is where you pull the weight upwards fast then Jerk off by quickly bending your knees and absorbing the force as the weight falls slightly.
That is the major power lift.
    Others are snatch and cleans.
But with this kind of conversation, you seem like you almost have sucked my big large C**k from a N****r about to get Big through roids!

  • are you f'ing ...

are you f'ing kidding me? I am a powerlifter and those are the exact lifts I do. Bench Press, Squatting and Deadlifting are all power lifts! You really just made yourself look like an ass by saying that. I really would love to slap you in the face for just saying that. From now on if you don't know what you are talking about then please don't say it. WOW

  • Ronnie Coleman only ...

Ronnie Coleman only build muscle look at him.
Also he never power lifts he only did squats, bench press and some machine lifting or curling.
A power lift is never of these kind of lifts: Dead lift, squat bench etc.
A power lift exercise is when you pull the weight quickly upwards and you land with your knees bent absorbing the force to your quads, glutes and hamstrings
Another kind of this are cleans, jerks and snatches where you lift a motionless weight quickly off the grounds.
