This is very good advice. If you can; by all means plant a garden. The whole family can join in to help. It will bring you all together and provide some needed extra food for your family. I do believe we must all get back to basics of living.

Here's something we should all do to releive stress, exercise!! It's one of the best stress reliefs ever if not the best. Just don't push yourself to cause injury.

You are a smart guy. Your advice is simple and to the point. I'm originally from Argentina and know what "crisis" is and how "hyperinflation(5000%" feels like. Living in the USA I have lived a frugal simple life all these past years, so I can say that I'm not in a sinking hole. Living this way has not/is not depressing nor depriving. For me family and friends and not things are of most importance.

Good idea talk to someone who can remember the first depression. The only thing is do you really want to stress out someone that old.
