A break down for all the 'Youtube Scientist" as we like to call them. A lot of people are saying a lot of things on Youtube about this topic. A lot of people have questions and i'd like to help set the record straight and bring a scientific perspective on the matter and show how we look at things in the scientific community. Enjoy! I hope this helps a lot to understand how it's really broken down.

Ok here is just a disclaimer for anyone wanting to comment. If you're going to use the lines "I found it on Google, Wikipedia, Youtube, etc" then don't even bother to comment. What is written is actual scientific proven facts based on personal and college journals and studies. I'm trying to help people understand that just because someone writes it on google and it looks official doesn't mean it is. Everything stated here is a scientific fact. I really want people to understand animal behavior. They aren't UFC fighters or robots. You can't just put two of them in a ring and predict who's going to win. It's all about the animal's attitude. Not their size and strength.

  • Its like. . . you ...

Its like. . . you can read all the internet articles and books you want on how to perform brain surgery. . . but without the 6 to 8 years of medical school you aren't going to really understand how it works.

  • The thing is a ...

The thing is a large male leopard is a much more skilled and intelligent individual hunter than a lioness. Not to mention the testosterone makes it much more aggressive. Unless cubs were involved the female lioness wouldn't peruse a fight and the leopard could drive it to the point of becoming the victim, always being defensive and just wanting to get away. . . but like i said it would rarely if ever happen in the wild

  • Like i said. I ...

Like i said. I have personally worked with two male Jaguars that have weighed over 350 lbs in captivity. The first line of the Jaguar statement says that the average males weigh 200 lbs. My statements don't come from google, they come from my wildlife biology degree and the personal and group studies i've been lucky enough to be a part of. Until you go out in the field and study these animals and really learn how it works it can be hard to understand.

Ben, I myself do appreciate your approach
to this age - old debate. And you are correct on both counts regarding google
and youtube. Let's see if both lion and tiger fans can reply in an objective manner. There's more than enough nonsense being posted on youtube than I care to see.
