Agreed w/ EbutouyEmanresu. Words in ad is shallow/cliche, esp. within context of a LV ad(which u only recognize at the end of ad). This shows how hard they try to build an image of class/depth, n exposing their lack thereof. Their obvious intent here confirms my observation that LV has always been a "most street recognition that money can buy" luxury brand for the mass-public. This is due to LV's history of commecializing their existing brand/patterns w/o any true design/creative inputs.

You have to respect them for not buying into their own myth and securing their position as a social status marker. They could have made just as much money. However, they chose to instill their product with a new sense of discovery and depth, and I for one think I'm going to give their products another look. Who would have expected any less of an ad with Marc Jacobs as the creative director?

if they want to make an artsy commercial thats fine but at least make about what your brand accually represents, indulgence and luxury.
the images and music may be inspring to some, but if you look at the words themselves they aren't very meaningful. a journey is a prosses of self discovery, wow thats new and original! it sounds like something from the back of a fortune cookie.
also look at the people and places shown in this commercial, old men, dingy alley ways, rural towns, do you honestly think people who live in these places, people on a journey of self discovery will bother paying thousands of dollars on brand name bags

Hey my friend, there's one point you miss apparently : this ad is not "one more common commercial". It's not « funny », there's no « special effects » or "tricks" in it... but it's a real experience, atypical, emotional, inspiring with breath taking visuals, like paintings. You missed everything which make this work unique, unfortunately... For me, and obviously for a lot of people on this planet, this ad represent much more than a vulgar advert : a piece of Art, spiritually and poetic !

Last I checked Santaolalla did not have this commercial listed on his IMDB site. That unmistakable melody that has impressed so many viewers is a rip off of Danley's composition. Check it out on Amazon, as Lorianne suggests.
