I have scrutinized my beliefs. I've been told countless times that I don't have to be a part of this. Also, if something happened where it really stopped me from trusting in God, if it really stopped me from believing in an afterlife, I don't think I'd feel any different than I do now.

People beleive in these things in exctly the same way as they once believed in God.
You say it is good that there are no Christians left in the UK. But it has been replaced by consumers with a lust and greed for "things", binge drinkers and self absorbed kids
I dont exclusivl beleive in sciene or religion. I feel I cn take from both t form what I see as my own religion.

That is a type of "faith" that I have absolutely no problem with. It can be a great utility.

However, it is hardly accurate to call that "faith", because for most people, faith means something totally different.


So when SOAD bashes science to exalt "faith," people feel justified with whatever type of "faith" they have- whether it's faith in a friend or faith that all infidels must die.

Most people are told this when they are too young to decide for themselves. If that is the case, you should scrutinize your beliefs, to make sure you haven't just let them be dictated to you by others.

Try to eliminate confirmation bias, it can have egregious effects. I have little problem with belief in deities; I just think freethought is necessary in the process.

I do understand what you are saying, and condemn you nah,and i don't trust easily. Why? look at how the world is. If faith deals with trusting what is told then people in general can't have faith in others simply because people judge so quickly. If they don't like what they believe they see about you they condemn you no questions asked. With a society like that, why have trust? Why have faith?

I am a Christian. Please don't condemn me for it. But, I have faith. I have faith that my God is real. Being a Christian, faith to me is all about trusting what you are told. I I don't believe, but I trust that there is a God. I don't think I'm making any sense, but maybe you should read it over a few times.
