Win Willy - Old Fashioned - Rebel Stakes @ Oaklawn 3/14/09

Beautiful job by Berry capitalizing on the pace, he timed it perfectly. Sometimes a well bred horse can outdual a rival in a long stretch drive, but when they think they've put away a horse and relax a bit they can get beat late.

Hummmm, looks like Larry Jones sure was on the wrong track this day. Loved the way Win Willy seemed so far out of it for almost the entire race... reminds me of the great horse Zarkava.

That was a good race. Great win for Win Willy. You have to get beat sometime the only reason Old Fashioned is even a Derby fav is becuase he was undefeated but hes just another good three year old. We wont get a crown this year to many good horses.

Old fashioned was not robbed. Win Willy gave him an Old fashioned butt whipping. Silver City was not a rabbit, he has always had early speed, just couldn't hold. Porter and Jones are idiots. They will never win the big derby. Porter should have kept Servis and Stewy. Win Willy kinda reminds me of Rockamundo and Valhol.

old fashioned definitely got robbed..o.f. ran a good race..fast pace throughout he more than held his own and look for a more aggressive horse next time out.if he had to lose i would rather it be here than later in the season.where did willy come from??
