I have been driving for 40 years and ran team for about 2 months. Will never do that again. I had some pretty scary experiences myself while trying to sleep in the bunk. That trainer should have NEVER let a new guy with 8 days experience attempt the pass on his own. They both paid the price with their lives, and thats a shame. Thanks for looking, Jack

It is Donner Pass on I-80 in California. The driver of the Semi that wrecked had 8 DAYS of experience. His Trainer was sleeping in the bunk. They both died.

It was on I80. I have driven semi's on this many times in the late 70's early 80's. They had signs posted for truckers along the route to advise in down shifting and sharp curves. It is a tough stretch on highway if you are inexperienced, are not familar with the road. Jack

I cant think of the interstate, but was it I70? I recently come back from Salt Lake City and we drove out to Park City and that interstate was a booger. I used to drive log trucks so I can relate to the dangers of trucking.

Your 100% right Glen! I have been driving for a living for almost 40 years, and you can NEVER let your guard down. My first trip out west in 1978 was with a WHITE cabover with no jakebrake. I had a hairy experience dropping off the grade into Salt Lake City, when the trans got stuck in neutral when I down shifted. It was either take out the brakes, or me. Thank goodness, after a lot of brake smoke and fast heart beats, I got her stopped. Scarred the crap out of me. I had a jake on the next trip
