wow, awesome I especially loved the candle...I always wanted to be able to do traditional animation, but the redrawing was too daunting so I never tried :P

I would suggest you study drawing. That would really help. Take life drawing classes. Computers you can learn when you start to do animation. You can always start studying animation right now. Get these books.. "Illusion of Life: Disney Animation" and "Animator's Survival Kit". Join some good character animation program.. AM is awesome! Whatever you do, dedicate completely to it ! :)

Hi. Nice Work. I read your blog about getting accepted to Animation Mentor. Congrats. Anyways, I was wondering if you have any word of advice. Right now, I'm only a high school freshman, but I really dream of one day becoming an animator. Do you have any advice on which classes to take (art, computers, etc), anything I should be strong in? Thanks.

hey chaitanya, ur work's pretty good for a first timer. but being a classical 2D animator myself, i believe when u were animating ur characters, many of the poses were off balance... as if they're about to fall. and u gotta work a li'l on the timing. why dont u check out my work and comment on them? they're also my first!

That's excellent!! :] I like how you added the reference sketches at the end. You've got some real substance in your work, I love it :)

That's really good work for three months worth of animation! I can't stand punching my sheets from the bottom, the post on my pegboard feel funny on my hands and I could never draw right, so I punch from the top and capture upside down. BTW I use I-stop motion pro.

thanks. for your reply. You know I am a educator in visual communication for higher studies and won the technologies company for web, multimedia and training. some times as faculty for others multimedia education centers.

Thanks, I use Flash 8 as well, but I was curious if there was something else that you were using. I need to sit down and figure out ToonBoom. I've never used it.

Yes, i have drawn each of them and captured. Havnt used computers for anything here other than putting together a video.

I am using ToonBoom Studio and sometimes Flash 8 to run my line tests.
